The African Union Resident Representative to the Southern Africa Regional Office (AU-SARO), H.E. Ambassador Hilda Suka-Mafudze, formally presented her Letters of Credence to H.E. Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika, President of the Republic of Malawi, at a ceremony held at the State Residence in Lilongwe.
During the presentation, Ambassador Suka-Mafudze conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the Chairperson of the African Union Commission and reaffirmed the African Union's commitment to strengthening cooperation with Malawi in support of continental integration, sustainable development and the implementation of African Union priorities under Agenda 2063.
The Ambassador underscored the importance of continued collaboration between the African Union, the Government of Malawi, Regional Economic Communities, and Member States in advancing regional integration, economic transformation and trade cooperation across Southern Africa.
H.E. President Mutharika welcomed the Ambassador and reaffirmed Malawi's commitment to working closely with the African Union in promoting the shared aspirations of the continent and strengthening cooperation on regional and global priorities.Ambassador Suka-Mafudze expressed her appreciation to the Government and people of Malawi for the warm reception extended to her and stated that she looks forward to working closely with Malawi and Member States in the region to advance Africa's development agenda and deepen partnerships that benefit the continent and its people.
